over 7 years ago | Uncategorised

Middlesex County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that Ollie Rayner has signed a new two year contract with the Club.

The deal means that Rayner will be available to play for Middlesex CCC until at least the end of the 2018 English domestic cricket season.

Since joining Middlesex from Sussex in 2011 Rayner has played over 140 games of 1st Eleven cricket for the club, taking almost 200 wickets, scoring over 3,000 runs and snaffling 132 catches.

He is currently the joint sixth highest wicket taker in the Specsavers Division One with 35 wickets at an average of 22.5.

Commenting on Rayner's new contract Middlesex CCC's Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, said:

"Ollie continues to be an extremely valuable member of our side and I am delighted he will spend at least the next two years of his career at Lord's.

"Ollie is a popular figure and has a lot to offer the Club, both on and off the field, as it moves forward.

"He is having an excellent season with the ball, is capable of scoring first-class hundreds and is as good a slip fielder as I have seen.

"I look forward to working with him for many years to come."

Ollie Rayner commented...

"I am absolutely delighted to have agreed a new deal with Middlesex and am looking forward to spending at least the next two years of my career at Lord's.

"I've really enjoyed playing an important role in our progress on the field so far this season, so to be rewarded with a new contract is really pleasing.

"To be a part of this current side that has grown to the point where we are now competing in all three formats and seriously challenging for honours in the Championship is a real honour and privilege and I genuinely believe that we have the making of a side that could go on to win many trophies for years to come.

"I'd like to thank Angus and the coaching team for their continued support and encouragement and look forward to making more valuable contributions towards the team's goals as we move forward."
