Surrey prevailed, after hosts Middlesex could only hit 101 for 8, with John Simpson top scoring with 29. In reply Surrey recovered from 35 for 4 to get over the line, five wickets down, with 4 balls to spare, with man of the match Ben Foakes top scoring with a crucial 45.
