TOM HELM EXTENDS CONTRACT WITH MIDDLESEX CRICKET

over 6 years ago|Uncategorised

Middlesex Cricket are delighted to announce that Tom Helm has signed an extension to his contract with the club.

Helm, 23, made his County Championship debut for Middlesex against Yorkshire at Headingley in September 2013, picking up 5 for 72 in his maiden appearance for the club.

Serious injuries in both 2015 and 2016 restricted Helm’s volume of appearances and saw him sidelined for large parts of both seasons, although in the 10 first-class appearances he has now made for Middlesex, he has collected an impressive 37 wickets at an average of just over 27. He has a further 33 wickets to his name from 26 white ball appearances for Middlesex across both short formats of the game.

Speaking of his contract extension, Tom Helm said:

“I would like to thank everyone at Middlesex for their continued support.

“I am very excited about the season ahead and am looking forward to helping the club challenge to get back into the top flight of the County Championship.”

Angus Fraser, Middlesex’s Managing Director of Cricket commented:

“For some time we have been saying that all Tom has needed is an injury free year. In 2017 he virtually achieved this and we all witnessed what he is capable of producing in matches.

“Tom is a young cricketer of huge potential and I am delighted that he, like all of us at Lord's, believes that Middlesex Cricket is the right place for that potential to flourish."
