Thank you to those Members who took the trouble to respond to the recent consultation in regard to the revisions to the Club’s Rules that are being proposed by the Board of Middlesex Cricket.
A very clear majority of respondents support the proposed changes. Nonetheless, there were a number of Members who expressed reservations concerning certain aspects of what is being proposed. A number of others responded offering various helpful comments and suggestions.
As was stated in the consultation document, the Board will carefully consider all the views and comments received before reverting with a set of final proposals for the membership to approve at an Extraordinary General Meeting (see below).
The Board will make a final decision at its meeting on 27th July as to exactly what it proposes to put to Members by way of a formal Resolution to be voted upon. It had originally been planned to hold the EGM sometime in August. However, due to the practical complications of holding such a meeting at Lord’s during the cricket season and also, importantly, in order to save on costs, it has now been decided to combine the EGM with the already scheduled Members’ End of Season Forum at Lord’s on Monday 3rd October.
Further information regarding the meeting, together with the text of the formal Resolution to be voted upon and full details of how eligible Members can cast their vote, will be circulated later in the season.
In the meantime, our thanks once again go to those Members who participated in the consultation process.
