To amend Rules 17.14 and 17.15 to state that the Board shall comprise one director elected by Affiliate Members and a maximum of five individual members of the Club to be appointed by the Board.
Currently the Clubs within the county, known as Affiliate Members, elect two Directors to the MCCC Board.
Last year, responsibility for the oversight of recreational cricket within Middlesex was transferred to the Board of Middlesex in the Community (MitC), a separate legal entity with its own Chair and Directors.
To ensure that Affiliate Members are suitably represented on the Board of MiTC, it is proposed that instead of Affiliates electing two Directors to the MCCC Board, they instead elect one Director to the MCCC Board and one Director to the MitC Board, thereby having representation on both Boards that in combination oversee cricket in Middlesex.
If this Rule change is approved, as a transitional arrangement, the Director elected by Affiliates for a three year term on the MCCC Board starting at the 2025 AGM will instead join the MitC Board. The arrangements for the other Affiliate elected Director on the MCCC Board will be unaffected.
This change will create one vacancy on the MCCC Board which, under the proposed Rule change, may be filled by an Appointed Director.
