Middlesex triumphed at Uxbridge, beating Unicorns by 5 wickets in the Second Eleven Trophy.
Middlesex decided to bowl on a fair-set day at Uxbridge after winning the toss, but Unicorns began on the front foot.
Thomason and Kilbee were able to build a solid opening partnership of 66 before James Franklin struck twice in one over, dismissing both Thomason and Whittock in the 17th over.
At this point, Moores joined Kilbee at the crease, and the two were able to steady the ship with another significant partnership of 88.
Once Moores was dismissed with 13 overs remaining, Middlesex were able to take the front foot in the match. Wickets at regular intervals during the final handful of overs restricted Unicorns to 226-6 after 50 overs.
Franklin, Patel and Barber all finished with 2 wickets apiece, with Patel the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2-34.
Max Holden and George Scott opened the batting for Middlesex, and Holden was able to set the tone for Middlesex with a quickfire 50, which came off of 40 deliveries.
However, once Holden went having just brought up the milestone, Middlesex found themselves on 86-3, which was soon 90-4 once Robbie White was dismissed by Burgoyne.
At this point, Middlesex were in need of some stabilization, which Franklin and Davies were able to provide. The pair built a partnership of 68 before Davies went for 27, meaning Middlesex were in a commanding position of 158-5 with just 69 runs needed to win from the remaining 21.5 overs.
Fuller joined Franklin at this point, and the two batted solidly to ensure the total was reached with 9 overs remaining, with Franklin hitting a commanding 78 from 85 balls in the process.
