Ladies were once again welcomed to Lord’s on Sunday for the annual 'Ladies Day' to watch Middlesex take on Hampshire in their LV= County Championship match.
Ladies Day at Lord’s is now a well-established social event and, despite the timely downpour at midday, there were over 600 Ladies and gentleman enjoying a glass of champagne with the stunning views from the top of the Mound Stand. The perfect setting to watch Middlesex dominate Hampshire in the cricket; bowling them out for just 176 and closing the day on 59 without loss.
The champagne reception saw streams of elegantly dressed women and girls in fabulous hats and fascinators accompanied by finely suited and booted gentlemen enjoying the atmosphere, taking advantage of the treatments on offer and browsing the stalls. A percentage of all proceeds taken by the beauticians was donated to Middlesex’s long standing charity partner, Shooting Star Chase.
Congratulations to our ‘Most Elegant’, ‘Best Hat’ and ‘Spirit of the Day’ winners, who enjoyed a prize of a bottle of champagne each. The ‘Spirit of the Day’ was a particularly impressive effort, with a matching hat, dress, shoes and bag all in the same cricket themed fabric!
