STUMPS DAY 2: LANCASHIRE 239 & 79-2*; MIDDLESEX 336
Although his team-mates' “#HoldenforLyth”, which appeared on Twitter, may be a few years too soon, Max Holden looked a class act today as he made a very solid 140, helping Middlesex to a very handy 90 or so lead as the second session ended.
We were though in danger of squandering that advantage as our seamers came under attack from the Lancashire openers Horton and Recce. However, on what has traditionaly been a spin favouring square, Messers Patel and Sowter regained our narrow lead by taking the two vital wickets of the openers before close of play.
