STUMPS DAY ONE: MIDDLESEX 254; NOTTINGHAMSHIRE 57-2*
The thought before play started was that the side winning the toss would have the advantage, and, after finding ourselves at 112-7 after being asked to bat, the predictions seemed well placed.
This was a time for a strong personality to make a strong impact on the game. Steve Eskinazi had watched all seven wickets fall from the non-striker's end and dug deep to score an eventual 126 (nearly half our final total of 254).
This was by far one of the stand out innings of the season, not only for Steve but also within Middlesex.
Two wickets for Harry Podmore meant that after a doubtful start to the day, Middlesex just tipped the scales in their fafour at the close of play.
