Middlesex County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that Nick Gubbins has today signed an extension to his contract with the club.
Gubbins’ new deal will see him playing at Lord’s until at least the end of the 2018 season.
The 21 year old left handed opener played in all formats for Middlesex in 2015, making seven LV= County Championship, six NatWest T20 Blast and six Royal London One Day Cup appearances. He finished as the club’s second highest run-scorer in the fifty over competition, with 339 runs at an average of 56.50, which included his maiden hundred, the 141 he hit at Hove against Sussex in August.
Commenting on Gubbins’ new deal, Middlesex CCC’s Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser said.....
“I am delighted Nick has signed a new deal with Middlesex CCC. His performances in 2015 merit the extension and, but for an unfortunate injury, he would have played a near full season of county cricket. During 2015 Nick showed the ability to thrive in all forms of the game.”
“We believe Nick is an exciting talent and we know he has an excellent work ethic. The two qualities give him a great chance of having a long and distinguished career in cricket."
Commenting on the new deal, Gubbins added.....
“I am delighted to have extended my contract with Middlesex for a further 3 years. Having represented the club since I was 14 years old it’s a dream come true to play at Lords and call it home.”
“I’m loving my time here and look forward to helping the club win lots of trophies in the year to come.”
“We have a fantastic squad here and it’s great to be part of it.”
