Sam Robson extends contract with Middlesex

Middlesex County Cricket Club are today delighted to announce that Sam Robson has extended his contract with the club and will remain at Lord’s until at least the end of the 2018 season.

Robson, 26, who made his first-class debut for Middlesex as a 19 year old in 2009, has since made 101 appearances and scored over 6,000 first-class runs for the club at an average approaching 38.

Angus Fraser, Middlesex’s Managing Director of Cricket commented…

“Everyone is naturally delighted that Sam has chosen to commit himself to Middlesex. Watching him represent England is one of the highlights of my return to the club. Seeing young men achieve their goals is very satisfying and everyone at the club who has played a role in his success should be very proud of what they have helped him achieve.

“Sam is a high-quality cricketer; a batsman that we believe will continue to develop, score thousands of runs for Middlesex, and play a major role in us becoming a successful club again.”

Sam Robson said…

“I am very pleased to have signed with Middlesex for the next three years. At only 26 years of age I think my best years are ahead of me. Led by Angus Fraser, with a strong coaching staff, and Adam Voges as Captain, I feel it is an exciting time for the club. There were a number of positives from 2015 and hopefully we can build on these in future seasons.”
