MIDDLESEX WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 39 RUNS

Ethan Bamber took 5 wickets for 37 runs in 17.3 overs to help bowl Kent out for 218 on day three. Jamie Odell took 3 for 42 from his 12 with Scott and Walallawita each collecting one wicket a piece.

MIDDLESEX 405 

Middlesex took three wickets this morning and Kent added 81 runs to their tally, but they still trail by 69 runs. The three wickets this morning were taken by Bamber (2) and Walallawita (1).

Middlesex moved into a commanding position at close on day two, leading Kent by 150 runs with just 5 wickets for the hosts remaining. Jamie Odell took 3-30 from 8 overs, Bamber & Scott picked up one a piece.

Robbie White eventually fell for 160 in the afternoon session caught off the bowling of Hunn. He faced 269 balls in an innings that lasted just 2 minutes short of 6 hours! Rath, in a partnership with White worth 111, made 56. The Middlesex middle and lower order batted positively with Tom Lace making 41, Godsal with a quickfire 22 from 27 balls and Thilan Walallawita 25 from 41 balls. The hosts will resume their second innings after tea 257 runs behind Middlesex with one session and a day to go in the match.

Middlesex have moved onto 288-4 a lead of 140 runs over Kent. The wickets to fall in the morning session were George Scott for 73 and Don Manuwelge for 2. Robbie White is still at the crease on 157* (257 balls, 16 4's) alongside Anshuman Rath who is 35*.

The Middlesex bowlers continued to dominate in the afternoon session and bowled Kent out for 148. Jamie Odell finished with figures of 4-33 and Godsal 4-57. The Middlesex started badly, losing Andersson in the first over and Cam Steel in the 20th with the score on 54. Robbie White and George Scott are at the crease for the visitors at Tea, trailing Kent by 89 runs.

The morning session was dominated by the Middlesex bowlers who wasted no time in putting the hosts on the back foot. The pick of the bowlers was Jamie Odell who took three wickets in just eight overs for 20 runs. Arthur Godsal took two for 26 in his opening spell with the remaining wicket picked up by Ethan Bamber.
