Rath, in a partnership with White worth 111, made 56. The Middlesex middle and lower order batted positively with Tom Lace making 41, Godsal with a quickfire 22 from 27 balls and Thilan Walallawita 25 from 41 balls. The hosts will resume their second innings after tea 257 runs behind Middlesex with one session and a day to go in the match.
