Starting the second day of this crucial Specsavers County Championship clash at Trent Bridge on 9 for 3, Middlesex dug deep and showed tremendous fighting spirit to get back into the game and build a first innings lead over Nottinghamshire, thanks largely to a brave knock of 75 from the in-form Nick Gubbins, which helped his side to a first innings total of 247 and a lead of 6 runs. The Nottinghamshire batsmen batted out the final few overs of the day to finish on 24 without loss to take a narrow lead into the third day of four.
After hitting a dogged half century to hold the Middlesex innings together, Nick Gubbins talks to BBC London's Kevin Hand at the close of play on day two at Trent Bridge
