Middlesex County Cricket Club is delighted to announce that Danni Warren has been appointed to the role of Head of Women’s Cricket.
Warren will fulfil a joint role with MCC with responsibilities in both organisations. She will oversee the Women and Girl’s performance programme for Middlesex Cricket, establish an Academy for MCC and Middlesex, assist with the delivery of MCC’s Women’s strategy, and enhance the female workforce.
Speaking of Warren’s appointment, Rory Coutts, Middlesex’s Assistant Head of Youth Cricket, commented…
“This is an extremely exciting time for Women and Girl’s cricket across the county. The game continues to grow and having someone of Danni’s quality to drive Middlesex’s performance programmes forward will see us able to continue to improve and develop, and build on an already strong base.
“Danni has been involved in every level of Middlesex Cricket as player, coach and as an administrator, and we are really looking forward to her instilling the same levels of pride, that she herself has always shown, into the next generation of Middlesex cricketers.”
John Stephenson, Assistant Secretary – Cricket, for Marylebone Cricket Club, also commented…
“We are very pleased to announce Danni’s appointment to this exciting role, and I am very much looking forward to working with her. We interviewed some excellent candidates and it’s testament to Danni’s experience and talent that we have recruited her. Both MCC and Middlesex are fully committed to working together to develop women’s cricket and I’m sure Danni will be a great asset.”
Danni Warren herself added…
“I am extremely excited to be moving into this new joint role and am looking forward to the challenges that are ahead of us.
“I am proud to be returning to Middlesex in a position where I can make a significant contribution to the success of Women and Girl’s cricket at a performance level. As an MCC member myself I am passionate about increasing the positive impact that cricket can have both on and off the field, and relish the opportunity to support their strategy going forward.
“This partnership between Middlesex Cricket and MCC perfectly places us at the forefront of Women’s cricket.”
