Middlesex and MCC to support the Grenfell Tower response
Middlesex Cricket and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) have collectively agreed to donate £15,000 to help support victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster.
The Middlesex playing squad and the club itself have together donated £5,000 to help support those in need following the tragedy.
MCC’s contribution of £10,000 has been donated from proceeds raised at last October’s CEO Sleepout which it hosted at Lord’s, to help raise funds and increase awareness of homelessness in the UK.
Richard Goatley, Chief Executive of Middlesex Cricket, said:
“The thoughts of everyone at Middlesex Cricket are with the victims, families and all involved with this truly shocking tragedy.
“Both MCC and Middlesex work closely with our local communities and when something as tragic as this happens on your doorstep it’s absolutely devastating.
“It’s been really heart-warming to see how the local community has come together in support of those affected, and Middlesex Cricket along with the playing squad themselves felt strongly that we too wanted to help.”
