DAY THREE - MATCH REPORT

After a superb batting display from Middlesex on Day Two, the hosts knew that much of the same was needed in order to assert their dominance in the game. This was exactly the case from the off, as Scott and White picked up from where they left off the previous day and continued their excellent partnership. As Middlesex continued to tighten their grip on proceedings, the partnership between the pair eventually reached 389, with Scott finishing on 212* and White 160*, as Middlesex declared on 612/4.

In response, MCCU got off to a disappointing start, losing Palmer, caught by White off the bowling of Podmore for 5. Despite the setback MCCU were able to steady their innings, as Fraine and Soames put on an excellent 82 run partnership to get the visitors back on track at 93/1. However, a solid spell for Middlesex saw them take two quick wickets, as MCCU were soon reduced to 96/3, with both Fraine and Soames falling victim. Another useful partnership of 41 runs helped MCCU keep the scoreboard ticking, before Marshall was trapped LBW by Walallawita for 10. The next 2 wickets to fall were Kumar and Tetley, with MCCU on 177/6. However, as time ran out both teams shook hands on the draw, with MCCU on 226/6.

DAY TWO - MATCH REPORT

MIDDLESEX LEAD BY 170 RUNS

After a difficult start to their first innings on Day One, Middlesex resumed the day on 34/2 at Radlett, with Eskinazi and Lace at the crease. The pair hit a superb 175 run partnership to help Middlesex significantly strengthen their position in the game, before Eskinazi was caught by Marshall off the bowling of Clifford, for 97 off just 103 deliveries.

Scott then joined Lace at the crease, with Middlesex on 185/3 and trailing MCCU by 185 runs. The pair were able to keep the scoreboard ticking with a useful 38 run partnership to help strengthen their total, before Lace was trapped LBW by Owen after a superb knock of 106.

With White joining Scott at the crease, the pair were able to able to put on another superb Middlesex partnership, adding 133 runs to the scoreboard as Middlesex went into the tea interval on 374/4. After the interval, it was much of the same for Middlesex, with the pair going from strength to strength. As the day came to an end the partnership stretched to an incredible 317, with Scott 175* and White 125* looking to continue the following morning.

DAY ONE - MATCH REPORT

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Middlesex got off to a strong start with the ball, as Eskinazi caught Palmer off the bowling of Podmore, with the visitors on 27/1. Godsal was soon in on the action, dismissing Fraine, who was caught by Andersson for 29. MCCU were able to steady the innings with Kumar and Soames at the crease, as the pair put on 56 before the former was caught by White off the bowling of Patel, with the score on 140/4. Despite losing a further few wickets, MCCU continued to add to the scoreboard and a superb 132 run partnership from Tetley and Soames helped them to 295/6 before the former was clean bowled by Patel.

MCCU's tail end were able to add a further 75 runs to the scoreboard, with Soames starring with 94, before Barber (2) and Podmore (1) were able to pick up the final few wickets as MCCU declared their first innings on 370/9.

In response, Middlesex got off to a shaky start, losing Andersson who was bowled by Owen for 6. Things got worse for Middlesex as Patel was soon dismissed by the same bowler just 2 balls later. However, with Eskinazi joining Lace at the crease, the pair were able to see it through until the end of the day, as Middlesex ended on 34/2 going into Day Two.
