Middlesex Cricket is today delighted to announce that Tom Lace has signed a new three-year summer contract with the club, keeping him at Middlesex until at least the end of the 2020 season.
Lace, 19, is a graduate of the Middlesex Academy, has played age group cricket for the county since the age of ten, made his debut for the Middlesex Second Eleven against Worcestershire at the age of just 16 in April 2015, and earned his first summer contract prior to the start of the 2017 season.
Since making his debut in 2015 he has gone on to become a regular in the club’s Second Eleven, making 56 appearances in all formats, and hit his maiden hundred against Worcestershire at Kidderminster in August 2016.
Lace will continue to represent the club alongside his University commitments for the next three years.

“Tom has made encouraging progress in our Second Eleven and thoroughly deserves this opportunity.
“He has the knack of scoring important runs when conditions are far from ideal, which is a good sign moving forward.
“Being at a University in London will give Tom the opportunity to train with the professional staff throughout the winter and when his studies allow during the summer.”

“There’s a huge amount of hard work ahead, but I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.
