Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce its fixtures for the coming 2018 season.
Having been relegated from Division 1 in 2017, the club is determined to bounce straight back to top tier status and will be aided in that effort by playing all seven of its Specsavers County Championship at Lord’s in the coming season.
The campaign will start with a home match against Northamptonshire on Friday 13th April, and will finish with in the final week of the season away to Durham on Monday 24th September. As with 2017, the T20 Blast takes precedence during July and August, but of particular note is the home Specsavers County Championship match against fellow relegated side Warwickshire on Sunday 22nd July.
The Royal London One-Day Cup continues its slot in May and June and will be largely played at out-grounds with matches against Essex and Kent on 17th and 20th May at the club’s training ground at Radlett CC and vs Hampshire on 30th May at Merchant Taylors’ School. A big crowd will be expected for the London derby against Surrey at Lord’s on 3rd June.
We will begin our campaign to win the T20 Blast for the first time since 2008 with a marquee match at Lord’s against fierce rivals Surrey on Thursday 5th July. The London derby has been a sell-out at the Home of Cricket for the past three years and is sure to provide the perfect atmosphere to launch this year’s tournament.
The Surrey match will be followed by four further Thursday night matches under the Lord’s floodlights against Somerset on 19th July, Hampshire on 26th July, Sussex on 2nd August and Essex on 16th August. Middlesex’s other two home matches will be Sunday afternoon matches played against Gloucestershire on 9th July at Uxbridge Sports Club and Glamorgan on 5thAugust at Richmond CC.
Middlesex are also delighted to be hosting the touring Australians on 9th June at Lord’s in a 50 over Tour match.

We were determined to play all our Championship home matches at Lord’s and are extremely grateful to MCC for performing some brilliant logistical juggling in fitting in all our matches. Using that many wickets at Lord’s has meant that three Royal London Cup matches are being played at out-grounds but the players very much enjoy playing at Radlett and Merchant Taylors’ and have enjoyed some success there over the past few years. It will also be great for our supporters to enjoy a tour match against the Australians on 9 June, having been present myself during our victory over them in 2001, it would be wonderful to see a repeat performance against a team fresh from the Ashes series.’
