Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that James Harris has today signed a contract extension with the club.
Harris is the latest of a number of high profile Middlesex players to commit their long-term futures to the club by signing extended terms, with Eoin Morgan, Toby Roland-Jones, Sam Robson, Nick Gubbins, Ollie Rayner and Stephen Eskinazi also recently sealing new deals at Lord’s.
The terms of Harris’s extended contract are undisclosed.
Harris, 27, joined Middlesex in 2013 from Glamorgan, making his first-class debut for the club against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge in April that year. He has picked up 146 wickets in 48 first-class appearances to date, plus 45 wickets in 38 white ball appearances. In 2015 Harris picked up 73 first-class wickets, including a best return of 9 for 34 against Durham in May at Lord’s, as he helped skittle the visitors for just 71 in their second innings.
On signing his new contract extension, Harris commented:
“I am absolutely thrilled to have signed an extension to my contract.
“This is an extremely exciting group of people to come and work with every day and we’re all desperate to improve and win more trophies.”
“I’m looking forward to playing a large part in that over the coming years for this great club.”
Angus Fraser, Middlesex Cricket’s Managing Director of Cricket, added:
“I am delighted that James has committed his immediate future to Middlesex. He is a huge asset to the club and has many good years ahead of him.”
