Upon arriving at the ground this morning, the umpires have announced that they have little option but to abandon the game with immediate effect.
Heavy overnight rain, persistent rain all morning, and the rain radar showing plenty more rain throughout the day, they were sadly left with little option.
Our next outing is on Friday at Lord's against Northamptonshire in the Specsavers County Championship. Fingers rossed for better weather towards the end of the week.
Huge thanks and credit go to Richard Ayling, Merchant Taylors' School's Head Groundsman, and all of his his team, for all their hard work this week in preparing us a great wicket in horrendous conditions. Sometimes, when rain just keeps falling, there's literally nothing the ground staff can do!
