The move leaves the position of Head of Youth Cricket open, and Rory Coutts, who was previously Coleman's Assistant, will become the new Head of Youth Cricket. The moves are immediate meaning that Coleman and Coutts were in position prior to the season starting.
Commenting on the promotions Middlesex Cricket's Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser, said…
"Coaching and the development of cricketers is something we take a great deal of pride in at Middlesex Cricket, and the players, whether they be in the 1st XI or in our under 13's, are extremely fortunate to receive the quality of coaching they do.
“The promotions of Alan and Rory are fully deserved. They are both excellent coaches and the quality of the work they have produced has been seen in the past twelve months, a period in which five Middlesex players have played for England Young Lions. Both are very important to Middlesex Cricket as it moves forward."
