SQUAD AND PREVIEW FOR 50-OVER TOUR MATCH VS THE AUSTRALIANS
Middlesex host the touring Australians at Lord’s tomorrow, looking for a repeat of their final performance in the Royal London One-Day Cup earlier this week, when they finished the campaign with a win, beating Gloucestershire by 33 runs down in Bristol on Wednesday.
They’ll have to do so without their two centurions in Bristol however, as both Eoin Morgan and Paul Stirling sit this one out – Morgan away on international duty with England and Stirling recovering from a niggle.
Also missing will be regular wicket-keeper John Simpson, who is rested, with Robbie White selected to take the gloves against the Australians, whilst Dawid Malan, like Morgan, is joining up with the England squad ahead of their ODI against Scotland in Edinburgh.
Australia, who have been training at Lord’s throughout this week, return to the Home of Cricket from the south coast, where they beat Sussex in another fifty over warm-up by 57 runs.
With the ball it was Middlesex man-to-be Ashton Agar who led the way, picking up 3 for 64 in ten overs.
Middlesex Head Coach Richard Scott has named the following fourteen-man squad for tomorrow’s clash…
Steven Finn (captain)
Tom Barber
Hilton Cartwright
Stephen Eskinazi
James Franklin
Nick Gubbins
James Harris
Tom Helm
Max Holden
Tom Lace
Ravi Patel
George Scott
Nathan Sowter
Robbie White (wicket-keeper)
The match starts at 11am, with tickets available to purchase on the gate.
