Top-of-the-table Middlesex, welcome back Fran Wilson and Sophia Dunkley from England Academy duties as well as skipper Natasha Miles for this Sunday's matches against Nottinghamshire and Surrey at Banstead Cricket Club.
Middlesex will look to the competition’s fifth and tenth leading run-scorers in Dunkley (91 from two innings) and Naomi Dattani (68) to continue their form. Dunkley did well for EWA, with the highlight scoring 91 in a T20 against New Zealand. With Miles' return to the side it will be interesting to see where wicketkeeper Amara Carr bats after scoring 61 runs in the opening spot.
With the ball, though Middlesex opened with pace from both ends last week, Hayleigh Brennan and leggie Dunkley might open so the batters don’t get too comfortable in the powerplay. Off-spinner Emma Albery will also play a key role in Middlesex's attack and is the competition’s eighth-leading wicket-taker with six at 14.50.
Sixth-placed Nottinghamshire should be a good match and have several of in form players who Middlesex will need to negotiate carefully. Spinner Kirstie Gordon is the competition’s joint leading wicket-taker with eight at 10.25 and has a knack of taking important wickets. With bat in hand Teresa Graves was the standout for Notts' last weekend scoring 45 against Yorkshire and backing it up in the next game against Warwickshire with 44.
Eighth-placed Surrey are in the bottom two based on team run rate and will be bolstered by the return of Bryony Smith from the England Academy. Smith enjoyed success with the Academy, scoring 92 against South Africa and will hope to replicate that innings tomorrow.
Middlesex play Nottinghamshire at 1:30pm and then Surrey at 4:30pm, head down to Banstead Cricket Club to support.
