JAMES FULLER WINS MIDDLESEX CRICKET’S JULY BROOKS MACDONALD PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD
James Fuller has today been named as Middlesex Cricket’s Brooks Macdonald Player of the Month for July 2018.
During the interval of this evening’s Vitality Blast clash between Middlesex and Essex at the Home of Cricket, Fuller was presented with a Brooks Macdonald magnum of champagne and a cheque for £1000 by Middlesex’s President John Emburey and Rob Seifert, Investment Director of Brooks Macdonald.
In a month dominated by Vitality Blast matches, only one County Championship fixture took place, although in that game Fuller played a pivotal role in helping his side secure a crucial victory. In six Vitality Blast games, Fuller finished the month as the club’s leading wicket-taker and recorded record ever figures in the format for a Middlesex bowler.
Against league leaders Warwickshire a crucial 71 from Fuller saw Middlesex recover from 76 for 6 to post a competitive total of 236 to remain in the game. Three wickets in Middlesex’s second innings, including the final wicket which secured the win, also saw Fuller finish with match figures of 4 for 107 with the ball.
In the Vitality Blast Fuller claimed eight wickets in the month, including returning the outstanding figures of 6 for 28 against Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl – the best figures in T20 history for the club and the first time a Middlesex bowler has ever taken six wickets in a single T20 innings, surpassing Tom Helm’s 5 for 11, taken against Essex in 2017.
Fuller’s efforts in July saw him take a total of 12 wickets in all formats, plus score 143 runs for the club.
Congratulations to James Fuller on an outstanding month in July.
