MAIA BOUCHIER LEAVES MIDDLESEX TO JOIN HAMPSHIRE
Middlesex Cricket can today announce that Maia Bouchier is leaving the club to join Hampshire for the 2019 season.
The 20-year-old right-handed top order batsman made her Middlesex Women’s debut in 2014 at the age of just sixteen and leaves the club having made over forty One-Day and T20 appearances for Middlesex since.
Middlesex’s Head of Women’s Cricket, Danni Warren said:
“Like all our players, Maia is ambitious and has made it clear that she believes her next step is to play Division One cricket. Unfortunately, Middlesex cannot offer her this in the 50 over game in 2019.
“It is always sad when a player decides to move on, especially so when they have grown up within the Middlesex system. Everyone at the club wishes Maia every success in her future career.”
On announcing her departure Maia Bouchier commented:
“It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to move on from Middlesex for the 2019 season – it has been a very difficult decision to make.
“I will miss my teammates and all the coaching staff and wish everyone the very best for the season ahead.”
