MIDDLESEX WOMEN'S 2019 SQUAD AND FIXTURES ANNOUNCED TODAY

Middlesex Women’s 2019 squad and fixtures announced

We are today delighted to announce the 2019 Middlesex Women’s squad and their full fixture list for the coming season.

Middlesex Women will begin their season with two fifty-over warm up friendlies against Kent on Saturday 13th April and University College School on the 20th April, before their quest to secure top spot in Division Two of the Women’s County Championship kicks off the following Sunday, 21st April, against Essex Women at the Essex County Ground in Chelmsford.

All seven fifty-over County Championship clashes will be concluded by the first weekend of June, when Middlesex’s attentions will then turn to the shorter format of the game and the defence of the Women’s County T20 title they won last year.

Before that however they’ll first take on London rivals Surrey in the annual London Cup clash, which this year will be played at Lord’s on Wednesday 29th May. Middlesex will be looking to make it five wins out of five in the London Cup - and what better place to do it than at the Home of Cricket.

The defence of Middlesex’s T20 crown begins with a home double-header against both Sussex and Hampshire on Sunday 9th June at Mill Hill School and after three more double-headers over the next three weekends Middlesex Women’s season will be concluded on Sunday 30th June when they finish with fixtures against Surrey and Nottinghamshire.

Middlesex Women have also named their squad for the coming season, which sees some new additions join the existing ranks, strengthening the squad after the departures of both Fran Wilson and Maia Bouchier to Kent and Hampshire in recent months.

Signing for all forms of the game this season is Cordelia Griffith, who joined the club last year from Essex on a T20 remit. Amara Carr, who has been at the club for three years, continues her T20 association with Middlesex Women, signing again for the 2019 season.

Lauren Bell joins on loan from Berkshire on a T20 contract. Bell made her Kia Super League debut last summer for the Southern Vipers, is a part of England Academy set-up and will add plenty of quality and depth to Middlesex’s T20 squad.

Sixteen-year-old Sonali Patel, a product of Middlesex’s Youth Academy, receives her first call into the first eleven squad this season having made her debut last summer. Scotland International Olivia Rae also receives her first call-up to the squad this year, having spent last season on loan to Berkshire after moving down from Scotland.

Natasha Miles will continue to captain the club’s Twenty20 side, whilst Naomi Dattani retains her captaincy role of the fifty over side.
