DUNKLEY NAMED IN ENGLAND SQUADS FOR INDIA AND SRI LANKA TOURS
England Women have named their squads for the upcoming tours of India and Sri Lanka, with Middlesex's Sophia Dunkley retaining her place in the national squad, following her involvement with England at the ICC World T20 last November.
Dunkley, who made five appearances at the World T20, including both the semi-final and final, is named in all three of England's squads for the coming tours.
The England squads named also include returns for both Sarah Taylor and Katherine Brunt, two of England's most experienced players - both who missed the side's journey to the ICC Women's World T20 final.
The pair will both fly out with the squad to take part in the ODI series in Mumbai, before Taylor heads home ahead of the IT20 series in Guwahati and the subsequent trip to Sri Lanka - dates for which will be confirmed shortly.
Brunt will be available to take part in the IT20 series against India but will miss the Sri Lanka series.
Jenny Gunn, who is on the retained list of Central Contracts, has been given a break from both series after years of touring and will report back in April. Kirstie Gordon and Katie George were unavailable for selection through injury.
England coach Mark Robinson said: "We've looked to use as many players as we can to give everyone an opportunity to learn and grow as we head into a busy year.”
"We've included 18 players across the squads and they'll come in and out as the tours progress as we look to improve our strength in depth.
"We've got a huge Ashes series in the summer, as well as hosting the West Indies, and obviously there are ICC Women's Championship points up for grabs across both of these tours so there's hard work ahead of us but we're excited."
