Stuart Law has named an unchanged squad of fourteen for this week’s County Championship clash with Lancashire, starting tomorrow at Lord’s.
Despite a disappointing first two days of the campaign up at Northampton last week, Middlesex’s Head Coach, speaking at Lord’s today, was firmly focussed on the positives from that opening encounter, which saw his side battle back with real spirit and determination to earn a well-deserved draw at Wantage Road.
Fresh from hitting an unbeaten century last week, Middlesex Captain Dawid Malan was equally as encouraged by his side’s fighting spirit and leads his side into this Lancashire clash on the back of scoring a brilliant unbeaten hundred himself against Northants.
Middlesex’s opponents this week come to Lord’s as one of the bookies favourites to secure promotion from Division Two this term, and they’ll provide a stiff test of character for Law’s men, who will need to be at their very best to see off one of their promotion rivals.
Law again has a near full strength squad to call upon, with only Martin Andersson missing out through injury, and the Middlesex’s Head Coach will no doubt be thrilled that his fit again pace attack came through a gruelling test at Wantage Road and are all fit for purpose and raring to go.
Middlesex name the following fourteen-man squad:
Dawid Malan (Captain)
Stephen Eskinazi
Steven Finn
Nick Gubbins
James Harris
Tom Helm
Max Holden
Eoin Morgan
Tim Murtagh
Sam Robson
Toby Roland-Jones
John Simpson (Wicket-keeper)
Nathan Sowter
Paul Stirling
