Middlesex Cricket can today announce that Ethan Bamber will be joining Gloucestershire on loan with immediate effect.
The 20-year-old seamer made his Middlesex first eleven breakthrough last year, playing in the club’s final six County Championship matches of the 2018 season, when he took 28 wickets at an average of just over 20.
He has made three further Championship appearances in 2019 and has taken another three wickets.
Bamber will join Gloucestershire immediately and be available for their four-day game starting today against Leicestershire at Cheltenham College.
Angus Fraser, Middlesex Cricket’s Managing Director of Cricket, commented:
“Middlesex want our young cricketers to get as much first team experience as possible, so when Gloucestershire approached us about the possibility of Ethan playing for them it was a pretty simple decision.
“Gloucestershire have a number of injuries to their bowlers and a hectic schedule in and around the Cheltenham Festival and the experience will only do Ethan good.”
