Last week, the annual Middlesex Cricket Indoor Cricket Trophy reached its finale, with a thrilling Finals Day at the Middlesex Indoor Cricket School (MICS) in Finchley. This was the pinnacle of a hard-fought and competitive tournament which was played through the autumn, starting with 12 teams entering and competing over three qualifying groups.
Four teams qualified for the Shield Finals Day at MICS on 23rd November, with a team from Brunel University winning the Shield Final.
The competition reached its conclusion on Saturday 4th January - Finals Day, where the winners of the West Group (Uxbridge CC), the South Group (Wycombe House CC), and two representatives from the North Group (Finchley CC and Winchmore Hill CC) competed for the opportunity to advance to the next round - a match against Berkshire’s strongest team.
After a very close series of matches on an exciting and fitting end to the competition, Finchley Cricket Club prevailed as champions. Everyone at Middlesex Cricket wishes them every success in the next round!
Middlesex Cricket would like to express its thanks to all of the umpires who officiated across all of the group stages and the two Finals Days, and to all the teams and players who took part in the competition.
