With the current COVID-19 lockdown restricting Middlesex Cricket’s ability to host a ‘traditional’ Members’ Q&A Forum at Lord’s, the club will be launching its first ever online Members’ Forum in the coming few days!
Normal Members’ Forum rules will apply, in that members are encouraged to raise any questions they have, on any subject, which will then be answered by a panel of the club’s senior representatives, made up of Middlesex Chairman, Mike O’Farrell, Chief Executive, Richard Goatley, and Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser.
Members’ questions will be put to the panel in a recorded Zoom video call by former Sky Sports presenter Dave Fulton, who has kindly agreed to host the online forum. The recorded forum will then be made available for members to view online, in the Exclusive Content section of the Members’ Hub on the Middlesex website.
Should any members need help or assistance accessing the Members’ Hub, then they should call the Middlesex office on 0207 289 1300, as the phone lines are being diverted remotely and a member of the office team can help you with your enquiry. The office phones are being manned between normal office hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Any members wishing to send in questions to the forum panel should email them to [email protected]. The deadline for submitting questions is 5pm on Tuesday 28th April 2020.
Speaking ahead of Middlesex’s first ever online forum, Chief Executive, Richard Goatley, commented:
“In these difficult times of lockdown, when we’re unable to welcome our members to Lord’s, maintaining regular contact and keeping them abreast of developments is more important than ever.
“One thing we’ve all become very accustomed to in recent weeks is finding new ways to stay connected, so whilst were unable to physically host a forum at Lord’s and chat to our members face to face, we are hoping to replicate the meeting and achieve the same results online.
“Now, more than ever, in these times of uncertainty, our members will have questions that they wish to put to us, so we would urge them to send them in and Mike, Angus and I will, as always, answer them to the best of our abiities.
“I must stress, that Members’ Forums, are just that, they are for the club’s members, and whilst we’re happy to record this forum and broadcast it to out members, the matters raised and discussed may well be privileged information that should remain within the membership. I would therefore ask all members to respect this and refrain from sharing the forum recording outside of the club’s membership.
“We’re very much looking forward to answering your questions, and if this proves popular, I would like to make these a more regular event.”
Members will be able to view the Middlesex Cricket online forum on the Members’ Hub from Thursday 30th April at 11am.
