VOTE FOR MIDDLESEX'S 2020 RED-BALL & WHITE-BALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

In what has undoubtedly been a cricket season like no other, we wanted to offer our supporters the chance to play an important part in deciding which players are awarded the club’s prestigious annual Player of the Year awards, in both the red and white ball formats – and voting is now open!

Breaking from tradition, for the first time ever, our members and fans will be able to cast their votes for their chosen player in each format, with the player then being awarded the trophy at a specially arranged virtual End of Season Awards ceremony.

The club’s Cricket Management and Coaching team, comprising MD of Cricket Angus Fraser, Head Coach Stuart Law, and Assistant Coaches Nic Pothas and Alan Coleman, have drawn up a shortlist of candidates for you to pick from, leaving the ultimate decision on who wins the Award down to you!

RED-BALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The four players nominated for the Red-Ball Player of the Year, based on their performances in this season’s Bob Willis Trophy campaign are as follows:

• Tim Murtagh – leading wicket taker with 25 wickets at 12.72
• John Simpson – third highest run-scorer with 250 runs at 35.71 and 20 dismissals
• Nick Gubbins – leading run scorer with 350 runs at 43.75
• Martin Andersson – fourth highest run scorer with 227 runs at 28.37 and second highest wicket-taker with 14 wickets at 17.85

WHITE-BALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The four players nominated for the White-Ball Player of the Year, based on their performances in this season’s Vitality Blast campaign are:

• Stephen Eskinazi – leading run scorer with 413 runs at 41.30
• John Simpson – second highest run scorer with 288 runs at 36.00 and 6 dismissals
• Steven Finn – leading wicket taker with 14 wickets at 19.00
• Luke Hollman – fourth highest run scorer with 139 runs at 34.75 and fourth highest wicket-taker with 9 wickets at 18.11

Members and fans can vote for the two prestigious Middlesex honours until Wednesday 4^th November at 5pm and those who vote for the winners of each category will be entered into a prize draw to win the actual competition playing shirt, worn, signed and personalised by the player, from both the 2020 Red-ball and White-ball Player of the Year!
