Middlesex Cricket are today delighted to be able to unveil the full fixture list for Middlesex’s Disability squads in 2021.
This season sees a restructuring of the Disability league format, with the sides competing in the D40 league structure spilt across one National First Division as well as two National Second Divisions, which are split into two regional divisions. There is one Super 9’s League, which is split into three regional divisions and one further Super 9’s Development League sitting underneath.
The restructuring of the Disability league format this season sees Middlesex entering two D40 sides into the National Divisions, with our first eleven competing in Division One and our Second Eleven competing in the South Group of the Second Division. Our Super 9’s side will compete in the South Group of the National competition.
After the Covid pandemic forced the cancellation of all 2020 league competitions across Disability Cricket, there is plenty to look forward to in 2021, with an expanded league format and more Disability fixtures to look forward to.
Speaking of the release of the 2021 fixture schedule, Michael Wilson, Head Coach of Middlesex’s Disability Cricket commented:
“After the disappointment of a severely Covid hit 2020 season, which saw our entire league season cancelled, we are really looking forward to getting back to some kind of normality in 2021, albeit it in an exciting new structure.
“The pandemic has continued to interrupt our plans over the winter, with forced cancellation of all training activities for the Disability group, however I know from speaking to the players that they’re keener than ever to get back together and get out there to represent the county.
“2021 offers us all a real chance to put down a marker for Middlesex Disability Cricket. We’ve got a fantastically talented squad together across both D40 and Super 9’s formats and we’re really looking forward to getting underway and to hopefully achieving some great things over the coming season.
The restructuring of the Disability leagues sees us putting a team into both the first and second divisions of the D40 format and a strong squad into the Super 9’s format, so we’re hopeful of achieving plenty of success this summer.”
