DAY ONE MATCH ACTION FROM THE AGEAS BOWL
An evenly balanced day at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton yesterday, saw Middlesex lose the toss and asked to bowl first against Hampshire on the opening day of round two of the LV= Insurance County Championship.
Middlesex's attack bowled with discipline all day to reduce the hosts to 281 for 8 at the close, with two wickets apiece for Martin Andersson, Ethan Bamber and Steven Finn, and a single wicket each for Toby Roland-Jones and Nathan Sowter.
Middlesex will be hopeful of wrapping up the tail quickly on day two and then batting with equal discipline to get past Hampshire's first innings total.
