Middlesex Cricket today learned that the Club’s enhanced live stream this week will be shown live on Sky Cricket.
Middlesex take on Gloucestershire in round five of the LV= Insurance County Championship and the entire match will be live on Sky, with Sky bringing in additional commentators Rob Key, Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain & Ian Ward to add their expertise and insight to the production.
All season Middlesex have been using three manned broadcast cameras for their enhanced live streams, combined with additional static cameras and a commentators camera. This week’s match will see a fourth manned camera added to the broadcast production to bring viewers and even better experience.
Middlesex’s Head of Marketing and Communications, Steven Fletcher, commented:
“When we first started producing an enhanced live stream last season, it was always our intention to produce a stream that gave viewers a TV style cricket broadcast viewing experience.
“Over the last twelve months we’ve learned a huge amount about the intricacies of live streaming production and the quality of our broadcasts have increased significantly over that time. To now be in a place where Sky are content to take the feed that we are producing for our matches is testament to how far we’ve come.
“We were honoured last year, when based on the quality of our live streams in 2020, we were asked to produce the live stream for the Bob Willis Trophy final, so had the opportunity to work with the Sky team then, and are really looking forward to doing so again.
“We are extremely honoured that Sky will be showing our stream on their channel and the team here at Middlesex, who work with me on producing the stream, should be very proud that their efforts have been recognised by Sky.
“Our thanks for to Sky for this opportunity to take our live stream to a much wider audience and we look forward to working with them over the coming few days.”
