Middlesex Head Coach Stuart Law names an unchanged squad for the first of two back to back home Vitality Blast clashes at Radlett, when his side will take on Hampshire tomorrow in an evening encounter starting at 5.30pm.
Opening defeats to Surrey and Kent, who both remain unbeaten in the competition to date, haven't given Law the start he would have wanted, however with two home clashes to look forward to at Radlett, on a ground that has previously yielded good results for Middlesex, he'll be hoping his side can put some wins on the board and start to climb the table.
Middlesex are forced to name an unchanged squad for Tuesday evening's clash, with five seamers still unavailable to Law through injury and illness.
Having tested positive for Covid-19, Tom Helm has been recovering from his illness, and although his isolation period has now ended, an absence of any physical activity for ten days means Tuesday's clash comes too soon for an immediate return, as he trains and looks to regain match fitness. There's some more encouraging news elsewhere too, with Tim Murtagh nearing a return after an elbow injury, although James Harris (side-strain), Toby Roland-Jones (knee), and Max Harris (ankle), all remain unavailable, still side-lined through injury.
A three pronged pace attack is again named for the Hampshire match, with Steven Finn, Blake Cullen and Ethan Bamber sharing the seamers' duties, whilst there's an array of spin options for Law to call upon, with Nathan Sowter, Luke Hollman, Chris Green and Paul Stirling leading the way, with further support coming from both Nick Gubbins and Max Holden if needed.
Green was in incredible form against Kent in Middlesex's last encounter, taking five wickets in the innings for the first time in his career, which included a hat-trick and four wickets in the final over of the Kent innings. Whilst the game ended in defeat in Canterbury, Luke Hollman again showed what a quality young cricketer he is - smashing his maiden half-century in T20 cricket, off just 33 balls, in just his ninth appearance.
Hampshire come to Radlett having lost two of their opening three South Group encounters, and Law will be targeting Tuesday's game as a turning point for his side, who will be hopeful of getting their campaign up and running with a much needed win.
Middlesex's unchanged thirteen-man squad is as follows:
Eoin Morgan (captain)
Ethan Bamber
Joe Cracknell
Blake Cullen
Stephen Eskinazi
Steven Finn
Chris Green
Nick Gubbins
Max Holden
Luke Hollman
John Simpson (wicket-keeper)
Nathan Sowter
Paul Stirling
