The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has today released the fixtures for the Division Stage of the LV= Insurance County Championship.
The month-long title-deciding phase of the LV= Insurance County Championship begins on Monday 30 August with four additional rounds of matches to be staged to confirm the champions across three divisions.
Middlesex will compete in Division Three of the next phase of the County Championship, and face matches against Derbyshire, Sussex, Worcestershire and Kent, with Leicestershire making up the group, who Middlesex will not play in the Division phase of the competition having already played them in the earlier group stage.
Both of Middlesex’s Division home matches will be played at Lord’s Cricket Ground, and we will begin ‘Super September’ as the Second placed side in Division Three, after carrying 13 points over from the Group Stage – and we host bottom-placed Derbyshire in the first round of matches, on Monday 30th August.
We then travel to Hove for round two, on Monday 6th September, to face Sussex, before we return to Lord’s for our final home match of the 2021 season, when Worcestershire are the visitors to the Home of Cricket on Sunday 12th September.
Our 2021 season comes to an end with a final away clash in Canterbury against Kent, starting on Tuesday 21st September.
We look forward to welcoming members and supporters back to Lord’s for our final two home matches of the LV= Insurance County Championship season.
Members will not need to book tickets to our two remaining matches but must present their valid 2021 membership card at the gate for scanning on entering the ground.
Members need to be aware that the restricted Players and Match Officials Area will still be in force until the end of the 2021 season, which will impact upon the volume of seating available within the Lord’s Pavilion. Other members areas in the ground will be unaffected by the PMOA zoning within the Pavilion.
