DON’T MISS OUT ON THE REMAINING HOME MATCH ACTION IN THE 2021 SEASON
With the 2021 season coming to an end in a little over six weeks’ time, there is still plenty of cricket at Middlesex home venues for our members and supporters to enjoy this summer.
With that in mind, here’s a reminder of what’s still to come in 2021 and what should be expected at each ground now that the majority of Covid restrictions have been eased.
LV= INSURANCE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP – LORD’S
Our final two home matches in the LV= Insurance County Championship are both being staged at Lord’s, finally giving our members and supporters the opportunity to enjoy some four-day action at the Home of Cricket as the season draws to a close, after Covid saw the early season fixtures being played behind closed doors.
We take on Derbyshire in our opening Divisional clash of the Championship in a game starting on Monday 30th August (play to start at 11am) and then face Worcestershire in a game starting on Sunday 12th September (play to start at 10.30am).
Members can attend both Lord’s matches and can gain entry into the ground upon presentation of their valid 2021 membership card at the gates.
Any members in possession of a 2021 Season Guest pass, can also use this at either of these two matches, as long as the guest using the members’ pass is accompanied by the member themselves.
Members should be aware the Lord’s Pavilion is still being used as a Covid restricted Players and Match Officials Area, which will impact on the volume of members’ seating available within the Pavilion at these games. All other members areas are unaffected by the PMOA zoning around the Pavilion.
Aside of the PMOA zoning, members and supporters should expect a ‘business-as-usual’ experience at Lord’s, with food and drink concessions open around the ground, the Middlesex room open and available, and the Middlesex reception open for enquiries or for you just to pop in and say hello.
SECOND ELEVEN COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP – RADLETT & MERCHANT TAYLORS’ SCHOOL
There are two remaining Second Eleven Championship home fixtures to enjoy, one at Radlett Cricket Club and one at Old Merchant Taylors’ Cricket Club, at Merchant Taylors’ School in Northwood.
Our fixture at Radlett sees us taking on Sussex Second Eleven in a four-day encounter between Tuesday 24th and Friday 27th August, with the match starting at 11am.
Members and supporters are welcome to attend the fixture, however, please be aware, that like our matches at Lord’s, there will be a Players and Match Officials Area in operation, around the Radlett Clubhouse, and no spectator access will be allowed into this restricted zone.
Anyone attending the game is also advised that there will be no spectator facilities available for those watching, and we would recommend spectators to therefore bring their own chairs and refreshments with them to the match.
A WC facility is open for spectators to use in the clubhouse situated on the bottom field at the Salters Field end of the ground.
At Merchant Taylors’ School, we take on Essex Second Eleven on the Old Merchant Taylor’s Cricket Club pitch, between Monday 13th and Thursday 16th September, with the match starting at 10.30am.
Again there will be a Players and Match Officials Area in operation, around the OMTCC Pavilion, and no spectator access will be allowed into this restricted zone.
Anyone attending the game is also advised that there will be no spectator facilities available for those watching, and we would recommend spectators to therefore bring their own chairs and refreshments with them to the match.
RED-BALL WARM-UP FIXTURE – MERCHANT TAYLORS’ SCHOOL
On Monday, the Club announced a warm-up clash against a Middlesex County Cricket League representative eleven, taking place at Old Merchant Taylors’ Cricket Club in Northwood.
The red-ball match will take place over two days, with 96 overs per side scheduled on each day, starting at 10.30am on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th August 2021.
Members and supporters are of course welcome to attend the fixture, however, please be aware, that like all other matches, there will be a Players and Match Officials Area in operation, around the OMTCC Pavilion, and no spectator access will be allowed into this restricted zone.
ACADEMY/EPP MATCHES – MERCHANT TAYLORS’ SCHOOL
Our Academy and EPP sides also have home matches still to play this summer and it would be great to see members and supporters come along and support the next crop of talented youngsters who’ll hope to represent the club’s first eleven in the future.
All matches will be played at Merchant Taylors’ School in Northwood, and whilst spectators are welcome, please be aware that there will be no spectator facilities available for those watching, and we would recommend spectators to therefore bring their own chairs and refreshments with them to the match.
On 23rd and 24th August, our Emerging Player Programme side (EPP) will take on Kent under 16's in their final home match of the summer, then between 24th and 26th August, our Academy side (Under 18’s) are also in action at MTS, taking on the Oxfordshire Academy in a three-day clash.
We hope our members and supporters are able to come and enjoy what remains of the 2021 season with us at the grounds, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in the coming weeks.
