MIDDLESEX’S NATASHA MILES RECALLED TO HONG KONG SQUAD FOR T20 WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS

Middlesex’s Natasha Miles is set to make a return to the Women’s international stage, having been recalled to the Hong Kong squad for the forthcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, being played from mid-November in Dubai.

Miles is named in a fourteen strong Hong Kong squad for the Asia region qualifying tournament and is set to make her first appearance for her country since representing Hong Kong back in 2006 on a one-day tour of Pakistan.

Hong Kong will take on Bhutan, Malaysia, UAE, Nepal, and Kuwait in the six-team tournament, with only one side qualifying for the next round of qualifiers, on route to the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup being played in South Africa.

Speaking of Miles’ recall to the Hong Kong squad, Middlesex’s Head of Women’s Cricket, Kari Carswell, commented:

“We are thrilled for Tash that her hard work in the English game for Middlesex Women has been acknowledged and rewarded with a recall to the Hong Kong international squad.

“It will be an exciting tournament to be involved in and for Tash to have the opportunity to help her country take the next step towards qualifying for the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023 will be a proud moment for her.

“We wish Tash and her Hong Kong teammates every success in next month’s tournament.”

On being recalled, Miles herself commented:

“I’m super excited to be able to make myself available and be selected once again for Hong Kong, it will be a lot of fun to be able to play alongside some of the girls I grew up playing with when I was a kid.

“The chance to represent the country I was born in and where one half of my family and identity is from is such an honour.

“I’m grateful for every opportunity I have had to develop and grow at Middlesex and I’m excited to take those skills and be a part of Hong Kong’s World Cup qualification ambitions.”
