Middlesex Cricket are today delighted to be able to unveil the full fixture list for Middlesex’s three Disability squads for the 2022 season.
This year our First Eleven will compete in the D40 National First Division, looking to challenge at the top of the table again after missing out on the title by just 6 points last season. Middlesex's will compete against Essex, Wales, Hampshire, Sussex, Lancashire and London rivals Surrey, playing each opponent once, with all fixtures played on Sundays, from April 24th through to July 31st. All three of the First Eleven's home fixtures will be played at William Perkin School in Greenford.
The Second Eleven will play in the D40 Second Division South, where they put in some impressive performances to finish second behind an unbeaten Surrey side last summer. Kent, Essex, and Surrey are Middlesex’s opponents this year, with home and away clashes against Kent and three clashes against both Essex and Surrey. All fixtures will be played on Sundays from 15th May through to 28th August. Both William Perkin School and Chiswick Cricket Club will host the four Second Eleven home matches this summer.
The Super 9’s squad will compete in the South East Regional League, looking to put a rain-affected 2021 season behind them and have a Middlesex side challenging at the top of the table in 2022. Essex, Kent, Hampshire and Isle of Wight are Middlesex’s opponents this summer, with home and away fixtures against each opponent. Again, all fixtures will be played on Sundays, from 1st May through to August 28th. All four home Super 9s matches will be played at Chiswick Cricket Club.
There is plenty of Disability cricket to look forward to in 2022, and with the release of this year’s fixtures, Middlesex Disability Cricket’s Head Coach Michael Wilson was optimistic about his squads prospects for the season ahead:
“With another season about to start, everyone involved with the disability squads at Middlesex is excited about the coming season. We have been and will continue to work hard over the winter months and into the pre-season build up - the squads are all in good shape and eager to get out on the field. All three squads are going into the season packed with so many talented players, and the mood in the camp is really upbeat, so we feel we have a real chance of competing for honours in each of the league competitions.”
