It has been a fantastic year for Middlesex coaches who have not only done great work with their players but have coped magnificently with the challenges of COVID, the weather, and increased numbers of enthusiastic young cricketers.
It is now time to start the process of recognising and rewarding the achievement of our Middlesex coaches with the launch of the 2022 Middlesex Coaching Awards scheme, which lead into the ECB national awards.
A copy of the nomination form can be found at the bottom of this article. This includes information on the categories of award and the criteria for nomination in each category:
• Young Coach of the Year
• Coach of the Year
• Outstanding Contribution – Services to Coaching
• Outstanding Contribution – Services to Coach Development
Please submit completed nomination forms to [email protected] by midnight on Friday 12 August 2022.
Please pass on this notice as widely as you can, to clubs, to individual coaches, and to any organisation where coaching is taking place, and encourage them to nominate. And please don’t just send it on, please talk to people to get them thinking about suitable candidates to nominate. There have been some wonderful winners of these awards in previous years and the success of the scheme relies on us having a good spread of candidates to select from.
The trophies will be presented in the pavilion at Lord’s on Wednesday 7 September 2022 followed by lunch in the Long Room. It has been a difficult couple of years, but Middlesex coaches have risen to the many challenges this has presented and come through that brilliantly. We should recognise and reward their achievements, and we look forward to receiving your nominations.
