SQUAD & PREVIEW | BERKSHIRE V MIDDLESEX | NCCA SHOWCASE FIXTURE

MIDDLESEX NAMES SQUAD TO FACE BERKSHIRE AT FALKLAND CRICKET CLUB IN FIRST OF TWO NATIONAL COUNTIES CRICKET ASSOCIATION FIXTURES THIS WEEK

Middlesex has named the squad who will face Berkshire tomorrow at Falkland Cricket Club, in the first of two fifty-over National Counties Cricket Association matches being played this week.

Tomorrow's clash in Newbury, which starts at 11am, sees Middlesex resting a number of players who have featured in the Club's heavy LV= Insurance County Championship schedule of late, with Max Holden stepping up to Captain the side tomorrow.

The rested players are expected to return for the second NCCA showcase clash against Hertfordshire, being played on Tuesday at West Herts Cricket Club, and the squad for this fixture will be announced on Monday afternoon ahead of the game.

Sunday's clash against Berkshire gives a number of players featuring an opportunity to impress ahead of the start of the Royal London Cup campaign, starting at Radlett next Thursday against Leicestershire, and they'll be keen to grab their opportunity to stake a claim for involvement in the fifty-over competition that runs throughout August.

Thilan Walallawita will be Middlesex's frontline spin option on Sunday with Holden capable of offering support in the spin department, with a four pronged seam attack in Martin Andersson, Toby Greatwood, Max Harris and Ishaan Kaushal.

Two wicket-keepers are named in the side, with either Joe Cracknell or Dan O'Driscoll taking the gloves, with Josh De Caires, Joe Cracknell, Jack Davies, Holden, and Robbie White filling the batting ranks.
