LUKE HOLLMAN SIGNS LONG-TERM CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH MIDDLESEX

Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that young leg-spinning all-rounder Luke Hollman has signed an extension to his contract with the Club until at least the end of the 2024 season.

Islington-born Hollman, 22, learned his trade at North Middlesex Cricket Club, and is one of four current Middlesex professionals to herald from the Crouch End based Club, along with Ethan Bamber, Joe Cracknell and Max Harris.

He joined the Middlesex youth set-up at the age of just nine and has since played through the County Age Group squads and graduated through the Middlesex Academy.

Hollman earned his first contract towards the end of 2019 and made his professional debut for the Club in the Vitality Blast in 2020 against Sussex at Lord’s, picking up two wickets on his maiden appearance for Middlesex, including the prized wicket of Ravi Bopara.

His List-A and First-Class debuts followed in the 2021 season, and he has since made a total of 63 appearances in just three years as a professional, playing as an ever present in the Vitality Blast and Royal London Cup this year and missing out in just two County Championship matches.

He has to-date taken 80 wickets and scored 1,278 runs for the first eleven in all forms of the game.

On Hollman signing a contract extension, Middlesex’s Head of Men’s Performance Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:

“We are really pleased to have secured Luke’s signature for the next couple of years.

“He is an extremely talented young cricketer, who features prominently in our plans for the future, and we are extremely excited to see how his game develops over the coming seasons.

“Luke’s passion, desire to improve his game, and his will to win, are just a few of the attributes that make him the player he is, and with more game time and experience in the first eleven, he will continue to improve as a player.”

Luke Hollman commented:

“I am thrilled to have extended my contract with Middlesex – a Club that I have always dreamed of playing for.

“I have been in the Middlesex system since the age of 9 and to now be realising that dream and extending my stay at such an historic Club is a real honour.

“I am very grateful to Jono and all of the coaching staff for the help and support they have given me, for the faith they have shown in me, and for the opportunities I have been given.

“I am looking forward to working hard to secure a regular place in the first team in all formats and to kicking on the performances over the last couple of years and building on my consistency.

“We’ve built a fantastic team environment over the last twelve months and promotion in the County Championship this year reflected the hard work that everyone has put in. Now we’re ready to reach new heights as a team.”
