Middlesex Cricket today announced that Laura Angus, the Club’s Commercial Director, is set to leave her post after six years of working at the Club.
Angus joined Middlesex Cricket in 2016 as Commercial Manager and then took on the role of Commercial Director when Rob Lynch left the post to join the Professional Cricketers Association in 2020
In her role as Commercial Director, Angus has overseen the Club’s relationships with all its commercial partners and sponsors, secured Knight Frank as the Club’s Principal Sponsor in 2020, and more recently has overseen the commercialisation of Middlesex’s digital assets, most notably with the introduction of iShares, who became the very first commercial partner on Middlesex enhanced live stream last year.
She has worked closely with MCC’s Commercial department in her time in the role, to ensure the seamless delivery of the commercial requirements of each of Middlesex’s sponsors and partners at Lord’s.
Angus will leave her post in February to join AEG Europe, where she will take up the role of Partnership Sales Director.
Speaking of Angus’s departure, Middlesex Cricket’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Cornish, said:
“Laura has made an outstanding contribution to the Club in her various commercial roles here and leaves our commercial department in a healthy and strong position.
“it’s always disappointing to lose good people, however ambitious people do move on to other opportunities and likewise we attract ambitious new people to join us.
“We will continue to work closely with Laura until her departure date to ensure the department remains in a good place and she will leave Middlesex Cricket with our thanks and very best wishes for the future.”
The Club will now begin a recruitment process to find a replacement for Angus after her departure.
