First Team Coach Richard Johnson has named a squad of thirteen to face Kent this week, with a youthful look to his opening squad, under the leadership of Stephen Eskinazi, who will skipper the side this week.
After three weeks of training in the marquee at Merchant Taylor's School the move to outdoors has been hampered somewhat by the rain, and this week's game will now take place on the Old Merchant Taylors' Cricket Club pitch, not the Merchant Taylors' School pitch as planned.
Wet ground conditions have forced the ground staff to already delay the start of the opening day, with no play taking place before 1pm. When they do get underway, the sides will play two 2-hour sessions, from 1pm until 3pm and then 3.20pm until 5.20pm, with a tea interval sandwiched in between (if you'll pardon the pun).
Middlesex's thirteen man squad for this week's encounter is as follows:
We look forward to seeing you in Northwood over the next few days.
