MIDDLESEX EPG SQUAD TO TAKE ON ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA UNDER 19 SQUAD IN AUGUST

Middlesex Cricket is delighted to announce that next month our EPG squad will face the Antigua and Barbuda Under 19 squad, who arrive in the UK tomorrow for a month-long playing tour in England and Scotland.

The EPG match will take place on Tuesday 8th August at Merchant Taylors’ School in Northwood and will be a fifty-over white-ball encounter, starting at 11am.

Middlesex members and spectators are encouraged to attend, with entry to the game being free of charge for all.

The Antigua and Barbuda Under 19 touring party will include 16 squad members, plus four support staff, led by Head of School Cricket and former West Indies wicket-keeper batsman, Ridley Jacobs, and the group will play a total of ten matches, nine in the fifty-over format against the Middlesex EPG squad, Loughborough University, Marylebone Cricket Club, the ACE Programme, Leicestershire Under 18s, an Antigua Exchange Programme All Stars side, the National Cricket Conference, and twice against Stirling Cricket Club in Glasgow, before completing their tour with a T20 match against the ACE Programme.

When not playing, the touring party will also benefit from tours and presentations at both Loughborough and Stirling Universities, two world renowned Universities for sporting excellence, receive educational sessions with sports industry leaders, and get to enjoy guided tours of Lord’s, the Oval and Trent Bridge cricket grounds. The group will also be catching some sporting action, with tickets to the Hundred to watch the London Spirit at Lord’s and the Oval Invincibles at the Oval, whilst also enjoying some tickets to watch a football match during their stay.

Speaking of the Club’s EPG squad taking on Antigua and Barbuda Under 19s, Middlesex’s Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:

“We are really excited to be playing a small part in this exciting tour and to be hosting the Antigua and Barbuda Under 19’s next month at XXXX.

“The tour will provide the young cricketers travelling to the UK with the opportunity to experience playing the game in different conditions, with different playing styles, whilst adapting to the challenges of new cultures and new environments.
