MIDDLESEX TO RELEASE GREATWOOD, HARRIS & O'DRISCOLL

MIDDLESEX CRICKET ANNOUNCES THAT THREE PLAYERS WILL LEAVE THE CLUB AT THE END OF THE SEASON

Middlesex Cricket can today confirm that three players will leave the Club at the end of the season, with the contracts of Toby Greatwood, Max Harris, and Daniel O’Driscoll not being renewed when they expire.

Right arm seamer Toby Greatwood, 21, came through the Middlesex Academy ranks and was first offered a professional rookie contract with the Club in July 2021 until the end of that season. His rookie terms were renewed for a further year in November 2021 and extended again at the end of the 2022 season until the end of this current season.

Greatwood has made just ten appearances for Middlesex over this time, seven in the List-A format and three in T20 cricket, with the seamer picking up ten wickets for the Club.

Fellow seamer, Max Harris, also 21, signed rookie terms with Middlesex at the start of the 2021 season, after graduating from the Middlesex Academy. His terms were extended for a further year at the end of 2021 and again at the end of 2022 until the end of this current season.

In his time with the Club Harris has made eight white-ball appearances for Middlesex, four in List-A cricket and four in the T20 format, picking up thirteen wickets across both formats in a Middlesex shirt.

Wicket-keeper batsman, Daniel O’Driscoll, 20, also an Academy graduate, signed his first rookie contract with the Club at the end of the 2021 season, on a two-year deal expiring at the of this season.

O’Driscoll is yet to make a first eleven appearance for the Club, however, has made 40 appearances for the Club in Second Eleven cricket, 18 in the Second Eleven Championship and 22 in the Second Eleven T20.

Speaking of the departure of all three players, Middlesex’s Director of Cricket, Alan Coleman, commented:

“It is always tough releasing players from their contracts, and even more so when they are committed young men who have grown up with the Club.

“We have to continue to make these decisions however as we look to continue to improve our playing squad.

“Toby, Max and Daniel have always represented the Club with pride and have been model professionals in their time with us. We thank them for their years of service with Middlesex Cricket and wish them all well for the future."
