Congratulations to both Ben Mason and Jai Charan, who have been named in England Men’s Learning Disability squad for the first time.
They join Kester Sainsbury, who has gone on two Ashes tours despite only turning 20 in the summer, and Martin Henderson in the squad of 14 as four Middlesex players who will feature in the Tri-Series.
Mason, who bowls left arm spin, and pace-bowler Charan have both been part of the Middlesex Disability set up for over six years, having got into the game through attending a Middlesex Super 1s Disability Hub, which was hosted at their school.
They will be part of the tour which will compete in a tri-series against South Africa and Australia, with the majority of games being played at the Groenkloof Oval in Pretoria.
Ahead of the tour, Head of Disability Cricket at ECB, Ian Martin, said: “Our national disability squads have a really exciting winter to look forward to. The number of debutants that the squad has evidences the growth in our side of the sport and an increasing talent pool.
I am looking forward to seeing Chris Edwards and the LD side defending their Tri-Nations title next month in South Africa.”
We wish them the best of luck next month!
