Middlesex in The Community held its second successful Borough Cap Presentation evening of 2024 last Wednesday at Old Camdenians Cricket Club, when Angus Fraser presented more than 40 young cricketers from the boroughs of Barnet and Enfield with their borough caps. For the second time this month almost 100 parents and children filled the Old Camdenians club house to receive their caps and to listen to Fraser explain the pride they should have in every cricket cap they wear.
Fraser brought all the caps he wore during his career with Middlesex and England, starting with his Stanmore cap and finishing with cap he wore on his final appearance for England, and explained to those who attended why each was special to him.
Borough cricket is a vital part of Middlesex’s pathway and it culminates with Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 age group cricketers competing against each other during a week of highly competitive cricket at Merchant Taylors’ School in August.
