DISABILITY SECOND ELEVEN MAKE IT THREE WINS FROM THREE IN 2024

Middlesex D40 second eleven made it three wins in a row to begin their season with an emphatic 10-wicket victory over Sussex D40 second eleven.

Having won the toss and electing to bowl first, Middlesex got off to a dream start with Moazzam Rashid taking two wickets in two balls in the third over. Rashid picked up his third wicket bowling Loveland for a duck in the tenth over.

Wickets continued to fall quickly for Sussex, with Connor Flaunty making swift work of the middle-order picking up three wickets for four runs in five overs.

There was little resistance from the tail as Craig Fowler picked up the final four wickets in just 2.3 overs, for no runs.

A ruthless bowling attack from Middlesex dismissed Sussex for 54 runs in 21.3 overs, with six Sussex batters dismissed for a duck.

Middlesex made light work of the run chase with openers Fraser Church and Ashan Rajasinghe scoring the 55 runs required in just 6.4 overs. Fraser Church knocked a quickfire 37 off 24 balls including 8 fours, with Ashan Rajasinghe scoring 12, with 3 fours.

A successful Sunday down on the South Coast for the Seaxes as they build a 26 point lead at the top of the D40 Pursuit – South East division.
